Beautiful, large 15.0cm to 18.0cm, purplish-red flowers with contrasting white filaments and brown anthers cover this vine in two waves from spring through autumn. Growing up to 2.0m in height it is ideal for containers or on a small obelisk.

A seedling of clematis Ernest Markham it was raised by Maria Sharapova of Moscow in 1972.
