Adding a luminous elegance to the garden, Miss Bateman will delight the gardener over an extended flowering period. A compact clematis, Miss Bateman will be covered in large 15.0cm, satin-white flowers with a flourish of burgundy-red anthers over two flowering periods. The first on last seasons wood from late-spring to early-summer, then from late-summer to early-autumn. Vigorous and free-flowering it is ideal to add brightness and light to a gloomy area of the garden.

Raised by Charles Noble and introduced in 1869, it was named after Miss Catherine Bateman, daughter of James Bateman a renowned orchid grower of the period. Recipient of the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit.
