The outward or upward facing, 5.0 to 6.0cm flowers are a deep rich-red on the outside with paler mauve-pink margins. The four to six tepals taper to pointed reflexed tips, and oen out as they mature to reveal the textured inner surface which has a bright crimson bar merging to rich purple-red margins. The stamens have creamy-white filaments and deep purple-red anthers. The cut flowers keep well in water.
Best suited for planting in the garden.
