The trumpet or tulip-shaped flowers are upward or outward facing, the outside of which is a very deep salmon-pink with paler mauve-pink margins. The textured inside of the four or five tepals has deep vibrant salmon-pink bars which merge to deep mauve-pink margins, tapering to pointed, reflexed tips. The stamens hae creamy-white filaments and yellow anthers. This is a stunning Clematis that is probably the best in this group The cut flowers keep well in water.
