Clematis Louise Rowe produces an interesting and showy mix of lavender coloured double, semi-double and single blooms over an extended period. The 10.0 to 15.0cm gently ruffled petals surround a central boss of golden coloured stamens.  Easy to grow and cultivate, Louise Rowe will produce flowers over two waves with the first wave in late-spring to early summer and the second wave from late-summer to early autumn. The depth of colour of the flowers colour will depend upon the light intensity it receives. It is best grown in a lightly shaded area to provide the best colour.

Raised by Jean Rowe of the United Kingdom and introduced in 1983, this lovely Clematis is ideal for growing over arbors, pergolas or other garden structures.

PRUNING GROUP 2

Pruning will help keep your clematis vines healthy.  Pruning the dense tangle of stems opens the remaining shoots to air and light which encourages healthy growth and reduces the incidence of rot and disease.

Group 2 Clematis bloom in late spring on last years growth and again in summer on the new growth.  This group require a little more care when pruning as if you cut back too heavily after the first flush you will reduce the number of flowers on show in summer.

Prune back lightly to a set of strong buds in winter and remove any dead stems and trim to tidy the plant. After the first flush of flowers in spring, remove the spent flowers to encourage new growth and a stronger second flush in summer. Feed with a good quality liquid fertiliser after pruning to encourage growth.
