A prolific display of large, 15.0 to 17.0cm, mauve-blue flowers over two flowering periods will give the gardener extended viewing pleasure. The flowers have six to eight broad, overlapping tepals which taper along slightly wavy margins to pointed tips. The newly opened blooms can have a soft pinkish bar that quickly fades away as the flowers open. The stamens have white filaments and pale yellow anthers. H.F. Young is a spectacular sight in late spring and early summer.
Suitable for growing in containers or planting in the garden. Awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's 'Award of Garden Merit' in 1993
