Large deep lavender-blue flowers from 15.0cm to 22.0cm across with creamy yellow anthers on white filaments with cover this plant early in the season with a second flush of smaller flowers appearing later. 

Raised at a nursery in Germany and introduced in 1905 this older and proven variety has been the recipient of the prestigious Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit for its outstanding qualities.
