Welcome to Clematis Cottage Nursery

We are a small family owned business located just out of Sheffield overlooking the majestic Mount Roland in Tasmania's Central Coast.  The clean air and cooler climate of Tasmania provide ideal conditions for growing clematis and our goal is to provide our customers with high quality clematis at affordable prices. Being a small family business allows us to keep our overheads low, a saving we share with our customers. In addition to clematis we are expanding our online range of plants to include a selection of bulbs and perennials with new additions on a regular basis.

We ship mail order clematis to all states except Western Australia and Northern Territory from April to June when the plants are in their dormant state. During this time the cooler weather also means your plants are not stressed from sitting in delivery trucks or at post offices during the warmer months. Other plants are shipped as indicated on their descriptions.

For our Tasmanian customers who can visit in store we like to look after the locals by offering mature clematis plants at discount prices. There is also a good range of other plants not available online.

This Months Feature Plants

Clematis Rosemoor

$16.90  $10.90

Another classy and stunning variety of Clematis from Clematis breeder Raymond Evison of the Guernsey Clematis Nursery in the UK. In a bold move Raymond Evison named the cultivar after the Royal Horticultural Society garden so the plant had to be good and it did not disappoint.

Large, stunning purple-red flowers up to 15.0cm across with a central boss of contrasting yellow stamens will smother this beauty over an extended flowering period making a glamorous and classy display. The deep green foliage contrasts nicely and makes a perfect backdrop for the prolific blooms. Producing blooms on both the old and new wood, Rosemoor will flower almost non-stop from early summer to autumn. Growing from 1.8 to 2.4m in size, its compact form make it ideal for planting in containers or growing through other shrubs and roses.

Clematis Petit Faucon

$16.90  $10.90

Raised by Raymond Evison of Guernsey Clematis Nursery in the UK and introduced in 1995, Petit Faucon is a chance seedling of Daniel Deronda and an unknown cultivar. Petit Faucon was well received and awarded the British Clematis Society Certificate of Merit in 1998 and the prestigious Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society in 2002.

A free flowering cultivar, Petit Faucon will produce masses of attractive, nodding, deep-blue flowers from late November through to mid-February. The flowers are made up of 4 to 6 slightly twisted tepals measuring 6.0 to 9.0cm across when they have fully opened. A contrasting central set of orange-yellow stamens ripen to attractive silvery-white seed heads extending the viewing pleasure. Petit Faucon's compact size of 1.0 to 2.0m and non-clinging habit make it ideal for planting in containers or growing through rose bushes.
