An older and somewhat unusual variety of clematis introduced into Great Britain around 1900 by Robert Veitch & Son. Producing a display of 7-8cm, white flowers with green-tipped tepals it is an interesting talking point for the garden. The amount of green depends on the amount of sunlight the flowers get - a lot of sun will result in less green colouring. This is contrasted by a central boss of very deep purple anthers.
