A display of large vivid 15-18cm, deep-violet to blue-purple blooms with the early flowers sometimes being semi-double over two waves from spring through to autumn. The name means 'white royal crown'.

Raised by Yoshio Kubota of Japan in 1957 and introduced into the U.K. by Jim Fisk in 1971.
