Medium to large violet-blue flowers with a pale, almost luminous blue bar that gradually deepens in colour towards the very ruffled margins which taper to pointed tips. The six or seven deeply textured tepals also have a hint of rose-pink along the bar when first open. The contrasting stamens have white filaments and dark wine-red anthers. Suits a partially shaded area as the flowers colour can fade in the sun and the name 'Ekstra' means 'special' in Estonian.
